Munn Avenue Press has been an absolute joy to work with. Rarely do you get a combination of technical excellence with stellar service, but that is exactly what I have experienced with the recent publication of my book. Writing and publishing a book is a daunting undertaking, particularly for a first time author, but the team at Munn has made the journey both enjoyable and successful. If you are serious about publishing a high quality book, then Munn Avenue Press is your answer.

In June when I interviewed between self-publishing and hybrid models – I was immediately drawn to Munn Avenue Press. First off, Charlie, the President and Founder, was the one who took the call personally. With the four other interviews they were just employees selling a product. Charlie first shared how my member resented with him personally and how it fits Munn Avenue Press. From the time I finished that conversation to the release of the book (and belying) Charlie and his team have been professional, involved and truly engaged with my process. They were cheerleaders in my success and continue to be in touch.

A good friend of mine recommended Munn Avenue Press (MAP) to publish my first attempt at authorship. I initially considered self publishing the book given my initial objective to just share my story with family and friends. However, as I investigated the process it became clear that I needed professional help and there was a reasonable opportunity for commercial success if done right.
I have found working with MAP to be not only very productive, but also very enjoyable. I am very proud of the Budapest to Boca book that we have produced. MAP has provided valuable input on all aspects of the book. The people working with me were very effective, efficient and a real pleasure to work with. I have been particularly impressed and thankful for the extensive personal involvement of Charlie Levin the owner of MAP. His understanding of all aspects of the industry combined with a strong marketing expertise would help any author, even those with lots of experience, produce superior results. MAP has also developed a number of unique and proprietary marketing programs that contribute to the success of the book.
The net result of my involvement with MAP is producing success for Budapest to Boca well beyond my expectations. It is not only generating extremely positive feedback from readers, but also is on its way to being a commercial success. I am donating proceeds from the book to the David M Foundation to honor my son who tragically passed away from a heart attack at age 38. The book will provide funds needed to continue the Foundation’s efforts to educate and stimulate alternative energy production.
My heartfelt thanks to all the outstanding people of Map!

Happy to share an honest take on Munn Avenue Press.
I am not an author, or wasn’t anyway until Charlie’s team got involved.
After retiring a year and a half ago, being one of those crazy dropout to CEO stories, and friends who knew my story continually telling me “Wow, you should write a book!” … I still didn’t.
Instead, as I had been having countless health issues and, frankly, unsure of my longevity thanks to a stroke five years ago (fully recovered), I decided to leave my story to my three kids, so if something DID happen to me, they – at least would -have the story of “how did this happen to Dad, AKA Mom’s 4th child?”
A year later, I finished my 120,000-word manifesto. Proud of my work, I sent it to a local author for his take on it. Unbeknownst to me, he sent it on to a friend of his, Jamie Malanowski, a former editor at Time and Playboy.
OK, you can exhale now…
Jamie liked the work enough to help me clean it up to its final version, now published. And Jamie was my connection to Charlie Levin at Munn Avenue Press.
Yes, it took only two months to publish the book. Part of that is on me as..
a) I had nothing better to do
b) I have always been an “off my plate, onto yours” guy.
Got to keep those trains moving!
But most of that was on them. They treated me like their only customer, which I knew I was not.
His team was fantastic. After all that, the book STILL needed a “cleanup in aisle 5”. Charlie’s team did just that, right down to punctuation and tense. I married an English major who is in two book clubs, and even she was blown away by Jennifer from Charlie’s team finding so many punctuation/grammar changes.
Truth be told, we were blown away by the entire team and especially the process. They were fully transparent before, during, and after.
And it was AFTER the book was published that was the star of the show. As cliche as it sounds, their work started there. In no time, Charlie had me on a podcast, hooked me up with a social media guru who got the book on Amazon, as well as Barnes and Noble.
Within two weeks, we had in-depth, five-star reviews from Reader’s Favorites, a professional book-reviewing organization.
They also arranged to have the book on Authorbytes, which is an in-depth look at the author, including bios, blogs, and reviews.
Honestly, I still don’t consider myself an author, I merely wrote a memoir to get 45 years in the computer industry out of my system, so I could go on with the rest of my life with a clean start.
Thanks to Charlie and his team, “how’d that work out for me?”
That’s what I know. If I had another book in me, I would use them again in a heartbeat, but this time more on the front end, too!

Munn Avenue Press gave me a novel with a striking cover, my name on it, containing a story that I finally saw in print at 82 years of age and one I can be proud of and that readers have wholly embraced. I’m sure a traditional publisher would not have taken a chance on my unconventional sports story, but Munn Avenue did and I think it will pay off for both of us.

Munn Avenue Press was unfailingly supportive and encouraging as they brought my first historical novel, This Leavened Land, set in eastern Tennessee during the American Civil War, to life. They truly believed in me as a first-time novelist and in my story, and for that I will be forever grateful.

Publishing my mom’s book, In the Kitchen with Linda, meant a great deal to our family, and Munn Avenue Press handled the entire process with care and real respect for her story. They guided us through each step and made what could have felt overwhelming feel manageable and collaborative. I’m truly grateful for the way they helped bring her book into the world.
